Printing & Shipping
All Éditions Plamondon printing operations are performed from my (Taran’s) home office in downtown Ottawa. As of April 2026, after two years abroad without access to my printers, I’m very pleased to now offer high-quality music production services with my newly acquired Ricoh printer setup. We are also now able to perform spiral binding in-house, greatly speeding up production and shipping time for larger scores.

We specialize in professional sheet music production according to MOLA specifications, the standard for music libraries and publishing houses. Whether it’s short solo piece or the parts for an entire orchestra concert, no job is too complex.

Our standard rate is 41¢ per B&W page (or 75¢ for A3 sizes like Tabloid 11x17”), and includes these perks:
- We have 9x12”, 10x13”, Tabloid (11x17”), 12x18”, and several other specialized music sizes available. Instrumental music is almost never printed on Letter (8½x11”) sized paper (but we still carry it since it’s standard for choral music).
- We use a noticeably thicker 70 lb Text (105 gsm) paper, standard in music libraries, to reduce wear-and-tear and eliminate ink bleed-through.
- Off-white “cream” colour paper reduces glare from stage lights and gives your music an elegant, old-fashioned look. (Standard “bright white” paper is also available.)
- Finishing services are included in the cost; folding for booklet-style parts, saddle-stitch stapling, and we even have long-lasting “hinging” tape for accordion-fold parts (3-up or higher) or foldouts/inserts.
- Spiral binding is newly available through ép and offers some advantages over comb binding; Spiral-bound music sits perfectly flat on a music stand, makes very little noise while turning pages, and will bring sturdiness and longevity to your scores.
- We draw on years of experience working with music librarians and in music libraries such as the National Arts Centre and the Auckland Philharmonia. For large ensemble works we will sort parts into standard score order and ensure they arrive at their destination with every part accounted for (including string count and any extra players)
- For submissions to composition competitions, we can anonymize your score at no extra cost and ship it directly to the competition on your behalf.
- If you plan to print with us but are doing part preparation (engraving) yourself, feel free to contact us with any questions about how to get the best possible outcome from your printed parts. We offer FREE 30-minute consultations over Google Meet if you’re at the beginning of your parts prep process and need advice on setting up your file. (my ulterior motive: a well-engraved PDF saves me hours during the printing process!)
Our mission is to help you make a lasting impression. That “wow” factor of scores with a professional look and feel will help you build your reputation.

As a point of comparison, if you print your music at a conventional print shop like Staples, you could save 9¢ per page (they charge 32¢ per B&W page), but they offer:
- Letter-size (8½x11”) or Tabloid-size (11x17”) plain white copy paper
- Folding and stapling costs extra – or you could spend hours doing it yourself (remember to buy a long-arm booklet stapler!)
- Comb or spiral binding costs extra
- Documents are printed exactly as you sent them (hope you counted everything correctly!)
That is what a non-specialized print house can offer. We’re a little biased, but we think it’s worth the extra cost to print your music right. 😉 Contact us for more information or for a free quote.
We also offer COLOUR PRINTING at $1 per page. This is great for a pop of colour on a cover page or for a graphic score.
