Every classical musician knows how rewarding and enriching performing Bach can be, but he did not write solo works for every instrument. Thankfully, the distinguished Canadian oboist Michelle Feng has taken matters into her own hands with this brilliantly arranged set of three selections from Bach’s Well Tempered Klavier, Book 1.

Bringing an encyclopaedic knowledge of the oboe and a deep passion for Bach’s melodic language, Feng has expertly crafted an “obo-istic” version of the iconic C major prelude for solo oboe and the exuberant D major prelude. The final selection features the challenging C# major prelude arranged for two oboes. She writes: “the individual parts of the C# major duet are rigorous and rewarding to work on while the whole is an exercise in determination and teamwork.”
